During the process of replacing a condemned pole, the EWP bucket was positioned and the existing LV conductors were untied and lifted. The two workers in the bucket grabbed the conductor with both hands, one person on either side of the insulator. One worker momentarily lost his balance, causing him to re-adjust his grip on the conductor. This resulted in the worker’s finger being caught between the conductor and the insulator. Although the injured worker was wearing approved gloves, his finger was crushed and split open.
